We have a Technology Policy limiting the use of technology, which helps to provide a richer experience for each student. Students will check in their device (cell phone, tablet, computer) upon arrival and will be given access to it on their days off.
This policy has been implemented as an opportunity for the students to connect and build friendships, rather than be focused/distracted by what is happening on social media/at home. Students may contact a parent any time via their chaperone in case of an emergency. Joffrey Texas recommends leaving any unnecessary devices at home. All devices are kept in a secure and locked area when not in use. There are computers and telephones available at the university library for students to use on their breaks.
The dorms are located on the campus of St. Mary's University. Studios, dorms and cafeteria are all within a five minute walk of each other. Each room has two twin beds and a bathroom. You will be assigned a roommate of similar age and same gender.
Students can request a roommate if both parties make the request.
You do not have to stay on campus. Joffrey Texas does encourage students to participate in the meal program as the days are long and meals are a great time to socialize and meet new people.
Joffrey Texas encourages students to attend their full program in order to gain the most knowledge. Our faculty will address each case individually and come to an agreement with the student if he/she must leave early or arrive late.
Scholarships will be adjusted to reflect the abbreviated attendance.
